We want to bring down the imaginary hurdles between us and our dreams.
We travel the world by bicycle and more recently by sailboat to prove to other people that they too are able to travel or do what ever makes them feel free, regardless of their social or economic situation, sex, race, age, convictions or physical limitations.
We live by foraging in urban and rural environments, thriving with less money every year. Perhaps one days we will truly live free.

In the past we travelled on a budget of $3USD daily for two adults and two old dogs. This money was usually spent on food, bike parts, dog food and medicine, fuel for our stove and hygiene products. This money is greatly stretched by the companies and people who support us with products that we otherwise could not afford namely bike parts, camping equiptment and free meals. Some expenses like an emergency opperation that Milo had to have in Mexico or renual of our passports are not covered by our $3 daily budget, for these expenses we have an emergency bank account fund which we replenish by working menial jobs and through financial support gained through the Support Us page on our website.
When we started touring with little knowledge of self sufficiency, we spent about $50USD daily. With gathered knowledge on;
- free camping
- wild edible plants and fruits
- the value of quality products
- dumpster diving
- trading
- fishing,
we now spend over 16 times less money daily. Meaning our money stretches more than 16 times as far as it used to. Translate that into 16 times less work!
In the past we have saved money to make travel possible;
Growing and selling fruits, vegetables and herbs for cents
Cutting, hauling and selling firewood at about $4USD per 30kg
House Cleaning at $11USD per day
Painter, Carpenters Assistant, Rock Picker, Fisherman, Garderner etc at about $10USD per day
To give you a bit of perspective, a rickshaw driver in India makes about $2USD daily, a bike messenger in Canada makes about $100 USD daily and a construction worker in Mexico makes about $12USD daily. I feel that weather struggling to get by or living with a very limited income, anyone can save away time or money to invest in making their dreams a reality.
